This is an Elvis Presley film with Mary Tyler Moore.  Both actors big in 1969, this movie has a story line using current issues of the times, dealing with racism, women’s lib, old catholic church rules, drugs, abuse, street lordblog-change-of-habit4 and soblog-change-of-habit6me family issues. Considered gritty for that era.  Elvis is a cute doctor at a free clinic, singer also of coarse but only a couple of tunes in this movie, it was not meant to be a “fun” film as the others. I believe it is one of the roles Elvis himself preferred doing ovblog-change-of-habit9er the other cookie cutter teenage girl films, he was far cooler in this movie and my all time favorite Presleblog-change-of-habit7y film. This movie is a little spiritual, however, if you knew Elvis you knew he liked Gospel music also. They spend their work days together trying to help a little girl love again.

Elvis employees three women and tries to understand why they are coming to a clinic in a poor section of town when they do not belong there. Both doctor and nurses learn something about life, love and indepedence.

After watchingblog-change-of-habit8 the Special Features on the DVD I learned this was Elvis’s last movie as he did not wish to make ablog-change-of-habit15ny more of the fufu chic flics the production companies wanted.  It was when Elvis went “cool” in his leathers as he created the best show he ever did ELVIS. It was a great acoustic concert of Elvis being Elvis.

This film is the real Elvis with my favorite song Rubberneckin’
